Juvenile-onset Adult Program

Juvenile-onset Adult (JOA) Program

Myotonic dystrophy (DM) symptoms get worse as affected people get older. As a result, adults living with DM sometimes isolate themselves

Our Juvenile-onset Adult (JOA) DM program aims to bring these adults living with DM together with support, resources and social opportunities. The program includes:

  • Private Facebook Group
  • Monthly Facebook Chat
  • Camp JOA
  • Coming soon! Guide for Caregivers of Adults Affected by Juvenile-onset Myotonic Dystrophy: This Guide was developed as part of the comprehensive Juvenile-onset Adult support program, to help improve the quality of life of those affected by juvenile-onset DM and their caregivers. This Guide is specifically designed to help families affected by juvenile-onset DM understand how to manage their lives, especially at transition points in development and education.
